2 Hindus and grandmother of Hindus are the face of the Modern Left

https://www.facebook.com/32040/posts/10107891094200761?s=32040&sfns=mo

2 Hindus (Kamala Harris & Tulsi Gabbard) and 3 white women running for the democratic presidential nomination. One of the white women, Elizabeth Warren, has *only* brown grandchildren (we’re going with one drop rule here).

We may need to wind up BP once our plans for world domination is complete.

What is a Hindu?

It does bring to mind about the age-old question if Hindu is a religious or racial term or a bit of both. I’m inclined to a maximalist definition; I see Hindu Kush, the Himalayas and the oceans as the ultimate limits of Hindudom.

However under that definition the Upper Castes can’t be allowed to define what Hindu or India actually means. That goes to the heart of the spiritual cleft of TNT; Jinnah (QeA) & Iqbal perceived the Hindu Raj where Nehru & Gandhi would paternalistically define the interests of Muslims as they did for the lower castes.

I do find it very problematic that the Upper Castes have completely monopolised the discourse. In many ways with Partition; they rather have a narrower definition of the Hindu and India but one that they could control.

It might work for them and India does seem to be rising, if one judges the deft performance of the Indian cricket team (it doesn’t pay being a Pakistan supporter since it’s really stressful). But at the same time I don’t see how this parochial attitude of the Upper Castes translates into any Civilisational grandeur.

Desidom has very limited borders and appeal despite the strength of its culture and diaspora.

It’s also why I tired when I see the Upper Castes flood twitter always somehow claiming how Pakistanis and Muslims are actually Indian/Hindu. When the definition is so narrow and slated then of course it becomes exclusionary and we opt out.

“Hindu Raj where Nehru & Gandhi would paternalistically define the interests of Muslims as they did for the lower castes.”

As opposed to the Pakistani army doing so ?
How about Muslims in the UK (or other non-Muslim majority countries) ? Should they have a separate government all to themselves ?

What makes Muslims so special ?

Does Kamala identify as Hindu?

Even if you want to define Hindu in non-religious terms, Kamala still might not qualify.

She identifies as Black (African American), and she is proud to be Black.

Like most people who are able to escape identifying as Indian / Desi, she has done so.

But she identifies as African American. She’s just as African American as Obama. I think you have to give that some weight.

Here is an interview given by kamala’s mother for a US Indian e-paper in Tamil

http://www.tamilonline.com/thendral/article.aspx?aid=2260&fbclid=IwAR3TYOZ5aGkHpKVsvTJScYCrpDq-bEUg7ctjZPxSqt3hHfwXSYnx-vqx9eY

Kamala and her sister maya are very much attached to India; attached to their Indian grandpa and grandma and other relatives; went to temples in India with relatives. Washed their feet in temple pond before entering temples as tradition demands. Coconuts were broken in Ganesh temples for her election victory as it the local custom and voila she won

Does not look like Rejectionist.

More indian oriented than Obama who basically disavowed his Muslim upbringing and was a aregular Christian.

VijayVan,

Here is an interview given by kamala’s mother for a US Indian e-paper in Tamil

Thats her mother, in some other places her aunts claim Kamala’s devotion to Hinduism.

The million dollar question: Has Kamala admitted to being a closet Hindu, specially after she started running for Public Offices.

Tulsi Gabbard, in contrast took her oaths using the Baghavad Gita.

That is a world of difference in honesty.

Maybe not Hindu publicly but does not mind coconuts being cracked in her behalf.
https://www.rediff.com/news/special/my-niece-the-us-senator/20161111.htm

Kamala has absolutely no principles, a lot of hope type talk and does what the establishment (MIC) wants. Like that other brown/black person who became President and bombed Syria.

Unlike the former hypocrite in Chief, Kamala isnt even married to a Black. However, she has the added advantage of being able to spread her legs to further her ambition. She done so successfully at the beginning of her career.

Sereno Sahib – sometimes people have to do whatever they can to get ahead. Like release a sex tape or spread their legs. So what?

I have no problem about anyone spreading or sticking it.

Kamala, has a cause, thats her ambition. She will do anything to get ahead., ie completely unprincipled. That is a dangerous for the world and the US.

Kamala is amazing; let’s hope she becomes President. The first Black Tamilian!

I was all gungho when Obama with his Peace and Hope mumbo jumbo was elected. Turned out to be a disaster, conciliatory words, and actions contradicting the words. One word, Libya.

White, Black, brown and Yellow, unprincipled ambition comes in many colors.

Also about Harris doing whatever the MIC wants.

Being able to ‘spread her legs’ ? Seriously ?

“Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker,” Brown wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle op-ed. “I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco.

Harris and Brown dated briefly in the mid-1990s, after Brown had separated from his wife in 1981. They split up in 1995, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, and Harris went on to marry California-based lawyer Douglas Emhoff in 2014.

Harris was 29 when they met, while Brown was 60.

One of the key points of scrutiny related to their relationship has been the two jobs that Brown appointed Harris to around the time they were dating. One position was on the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and the other was on the Medical Assistance Commission. Harris held both jobs in 1994, the same year she was linked with Brown,

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/1/28/18200885/willie-brown-kamala-harris-2020

Also about Harris doing whatever the MIC wants.
She is a war hawk, trying to outdo Trump. Harris is everything the US empire’s unelected power establishment wants in a politician: charismatic, commanding, and completely unprincipled. In that sense she’s like Obama, only better.

At the debate she said
“You asked what is the greatest national-security threat to the United States. It’s Donald Trump,” Harris said. “You want to talk about North Korea, a real threat in terms of its nuclear arsenal. But what does he do? He embraces Kim Jong Un, a dictator, for the sake of a photo op. Putin. You want to talk about Russia? He takes the word of the Russian president over the word of the American intelligence community when it comes to a threat to our democracy and our elections.”

Kind of below the belt attack.

Believe me, lot of women in this country are willing to spread their legs to advance their careers; not all of them get to become a senator. It takes much more than the willingness to spread the legs to reach the position of authority.

Let me offer the revolutionary hypothesis that many women have no need to spread anything to do well in their chosen careers.

All this loose misogynist bullshit by anonymous men is a reason why most sensible women stay away from online discussions.

, I fully agree with you. My comment was actually made in refutation of the distasteful comment made by the original commenter. No offence was meant to the career focused successful women of the world. I was merely pointing out that Kamala Harris obviously has more qualities than people are giving her credit for.

Look at Trump, or Bill Clinton. Their shenanigans in sexual matters are well known. Yet nobody uses such loose language against them. It is obviously double standard.

Yes below the belt, because it shows up a fatal flaw in her character.

Kamala has one cause and principle, that is Kamala Harris.
Anything else will be thrown under the bus if if it gets in the way of Kamala’s ambition.

No question, women spread to get ahead in their careers. They are playing the system.

Men (mainly), further womens (at times other mens) ambitions, monetary needs in return for sexual favors. If its a job in a private or even a public company thats not my damn business.

However, when the job, contract are thru the govt, then I have a problems. The man is bribing using public tax payer money, and the woman is accepting public tax payer money as bribe. That is what Kamala did, she accepted public tax payer money given as a bribe by Willie Brown.

Look at Trump, or Bill Clinton. Their shenanigans in sexual matters are well known. Yet nobody uses such loose language against them. It is obviously double standard.

Please, Bill Clinton, a hypocritical asshole is the best I can say of Bill. He used his position of power as President and Governor to go after vulnerable poor women. Rape charges were filed and settled out of court. The worst was Monica Lewinsky, she was barely past the age of statutory rape. The asshole didnt even have the decency to admit having sex.
In the glory days of a booming economy, many hailed Bill Clinton. However he had set the wheels in motion for the 2008 crash and a FIRE economy by repealing the Glass-Steagall act.

Trump: He played with his money. Maybe he did not pay enough or womens expectations were bigger. They can fight it out in court or whatver. Not my business.

Arjun, you seem to be holding a candle to Kamala Harris’s spreading leg for govt/public taxpayer monies and jobs. Holding the candle is another way of saying facilitator. Were you a facilitator, you know there is a name for facilitators for transactions of a sexual nature.

Now Arjun be a good little boy, give us your name and background. Please make a statement that you have not facilitated or benefited by Kamala’s “escapades”.

Want a support a person of color, then Tulsi Gabbard

a) Upfront that she is a practicing Hindu
b) A veteran
c) Anti War

Ms. Gabbard said after her 2012 election she made a personal decision to take “my congressional oath of office on the supreme yoga/Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna’s teachings have provided wisdom and spiritual solace to me throughout my life, including when I was serving our country in the Middle East during the Iraq war.”

Anyone who supports the Hindu Right in India should not get anywhere near the presidency of the United States of America. Not to mention that Ms. Gabbard has held homophobic views in the past.

She is polling at 1% and is not a serious candidate at all.

VijayVan,

First: I dont think the Democrat establishment will allow Tulsi to become the nominee, much like Bernie Sanders in 2016 run.

We all have gut reactions to affiliation or against based on color, religion, class etc.

Zack: Gut positive reaction to Kamala Harris, great Brown Person with South Indian ancestry. Ignores, tax payer money was spent for Willies Willy going into Kamala.

Kabir: Gut negative. Tulsi Gabbard a Hindu and gets support from Right wing. Ignores that Tulsi went and met Assad in Syria and supportive of Sisi.

I guess I am cynical, old age or something, or maybe it was Obama.
I made the wrong assessment of Obama, based on black/brown has to be good. Long before Libya I was disillusioned.

My wish/support (as an foreigner) for Tulsi Gabbard is because of her anti war platform. Secondly, she has confirmed that anti war position by meeting with Syria’s Bashir Assad.

I don’t care that Ms. Gabbard is a Hindu. She can profess whatever religion she likes. Her closeness to the Modi regime is problematic. Supporting the Egyptian military dictator is also hardly a selling point. Her stance that the US should not indulge in regime change is admirable though.

More on Kamala Harris

Ordered to reduce the population of California’s overcrowded prisons, lawyers from then-California Attorney General Kamala Harris’ office made the case that some non-violent offenders needed to stay incarcerated or else the prison system would lose a source of cheap labor.
https://www.thedailybeast.com/kamala-harris-ag-office-tried-to-keep-inmates-locked-up-for-cheap-labor?

Harris has since replaced her punitive stance with the message that parents of truant children need help, not scare tactics. It’s a shift that happened roughly in step with voters’ waning tolerance for using the criminal justice system to address complicated social problems and Harris’ own preparations to seek higher office.

UCs are given equal rights in America and LCs are given equal rights in India – both constitutionally. If you’re suggesting that UCs want to constitutionally revoke these rights for LCs, I fail to see the evidence for this.

If you’re talking about discrimination societally as opposed to legally, it happens across varnas and in between jatis also. Intra-caste marriage is higher amongst LCs rather than UCs. There are several incidents of infra-SC violence happening as well – see this recent incident https://mobile.twitter.com/ANI/status/1146976241263816706.

Mr. Sbarrkum is absolutely right in his assessment. Those of you accusing him of misogyny need to lay off an learn the facts.

California’s a giant state, but it’s run essentially by one man Willie Brown from behind the scenes for the past 4 decades:

https://www.ocregister.com/2018/09/26/california-is-still-living-in-willie-browns-world/

For example, the current governor of the state is basically a guy who had no ambition in his youth except to drink wine and write articles about drinking wine until he met Willie Brown who got him into politics and put him on the fast track to the governor’s mansion. Willie Brown makes things happen for people who have his favor.

I wouldn’t accuse any of the other women in this race of using sex to further their political career. But with the case of Kamala Harris who dated Willie Brown when he was twice her age and received cushy political appointments in exchange (i.e attending 10 meetings a year in exchange for a 6 figure salary), it’s absolutely fair.

Like Obama in 2008, the media has already decreed Kamala Harris to be their preferred candidate so they are pulling out all the stops to help her out. A quick Google search will show several articles with the media trying to preempt any criticism or examination of Kamala Harris career sexual adventures by decrying it as racist/sexist/etc. Just like how in 2008 the media wouldn’t allow any examination of Obama’s heavy drug use in his youth or his involvement with colorful radicals like the Reverend Wright (racist, racist, to examine any of this per the media).

On the other hand, Tulsi Gabbard has gotten a hatchet job by the media. A New Yorker article described her parents as “fucking hippies”. There’s articles out there “interrogating” the beliefs of her family’s Hindu religious mentor. Very strange given that we were told in 2008 that any close examination of Obama’s unusual family background, his drug use, and the extreme beliefs of his pastor would not be allowed and anyone doing so would be disowned/fired/depersoned.

“All I ask of the UCs is to be fair.
If you want equal rights in the US give equal rights back home..”

The backward castes do have equal rights. They also have 50% reservation quotas in India in college and public jobs. In America, the whites aren’t prepared to give even 10% to blacks and Hispanics in universities (never ending lawsuits over this at places like U-Michigan) and quotas are explicitly banned.

This will make Willie Brown’s grip on power second most longer in the world in recent history, easily beating Hosni Mubarak or Omar al-Bashir, or even Gaddafi.

Venerable Fidel Castro remains the unsurpassed record holder for political longevity of course.

Given the fact that California is 5th largest economy in the world, all of these leaders pale in comparison to Brown.

Raj Darb your response is textbook UC Hindutvists (All UCs are not like this, we owe a lot of true social justice to UCs wanting to do the right thing). They will give the most twisted acrobatic denials of the caste systems effects and how the systemic violent responses to uphold it prevails today. I would not just include dalits/lower castes who are affected by their chauvinism but also religious minorities. I do not want this to reflect on all upper castes, because certain areas like (West) Bengal, southern India seem to do a bit better and don’t see most of the extreme caste and religious atrocities that are in the most Hindutva friendly areas of the northern and some parts of the central regions (i.e. Oriya, Gujarat , Muslim pogroms and the Dangs attacks against Christians, Kandhamal, etc.). Despite America’s shortcomings, they are light years ahead in addressing injustices and helping their black and Hispanic populations and even religious minorities (Hindus who are for the most part upper caste nonnative immigrants, have it quite good here compared to religious minorities who are blood in soil natives in India).

Considering there is already constitutional parity and economic/social change takes time (though it has been trending in the right direction for almost 70 years).

What else do you think UC’s should do to be fair?

I don’t think the constant breast beating and expression of guilt that a lot of ‘liberals’ are wont to do is a useful answer.
